"Red Tails" movie has a classic Battlestar Galactica feel to it.

Saw "Red Tails, I was riveted.. man that was a awesome movie. And any time I get to see B-17 bombers is always welcome.

Now to give this a slightly nerdly angle, why I liked it was it had a Battlestar Galactica (classic) feel to it for me. Julian (Squad leader) was basically Apollo, Lightning was Starbuck, and Easy was Boomer. They had a good maverick Colonel for Adama, and the commander was a good Tigh. So naturally loved the hell out of this movie!!

Anyone else see this parallel?

Well, when you put it that way, I'm inclined to check it out! :salute:

I mean the characters will not be exact, but the interplay of the characters was there. It was basically a classic Battlestar story in WW2.

There's a good reason for that: A lot of BG was based on things from WWII. Even the viper pilots jackets and uniforms were styled to remind people of WWII flight jackets and uniforms. Cain was reminiscent of Patton and Adama played more of a thoughtful tactician like Eisenhower.
