I had a feeling this might present a challenge.

Flamingo Girl June 28th, 2004 09:01 AM

I did too good, didn't I?
I'll wait till tonight before giving any hints, so everyone has had a chance to guess.

amberstar June 28th, 2004 05:25 PM

 I have no idea

Congrats, Bomb, on hitting 1000 posts!

Still an "Old Man", though? Hmmm........ ;)

Flamingo Girl June 28th, 2004 08:41 PM

It's a comedy set in the early 1930's.

BST June 29th, 2004 02:21 AM

Like Laurel and Hardy, etc?

unowhoandwhy June 29th, 2004 08:52 AM

I am thoroughly stumped. I couldn't even get Google to cough up a response when I gave up and decided to cheat!

Flamingo Girl June 29th, 2004 09:16 AM

Not like Laurel and Hardy, it was filmed in 1991, but was set in the early thirties.

Wow, guess it's a bit on the obsure side. Too bad, it's darned funny.

BST June 29th, 2004 01:47 PM

FG,

OMG, I don't even have a clue and like, Uno, I've had to resort to "investigating".... (mixed results but, no answers yet)

*hangs head in shame......

anyway, since many of us are not likely to guess this stumper, in our lifetime, can you give another clue like maybe the first letter of the title? Also, is it a domestic or foreign film?

BST :)

(Immitating almost anyone in Hollywood right now) "1991? That was ages ago! No one cares about the 90s!" :D

But I will just take a stab (and it is just that - a pure and simple guess):

Mobsters?

Flamingo Girl June 29th, 2004 08:31 PM

It's an American film, and shares it's name with an award.

PlaidSquadron July 2nd, 2004 07:29 AM

I own my house, so "The Money Pit" is no longer that funny a movie....

unowhoandwhy July 2nd, 2004 07:43 AM

I could see that movie in my mind, but could not remember the name! Now I know why: "Money Pit" is what my house seems to be, no matter how much I love it, so I must have repressed it!
