Re: Book 007: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Well, I think 3 years is sufficient time for folks to have read the story.
;) :D So, to kick off discussion, I'll start with saying that, according to IMDB, The Deathly Hallows, Part I, is scheduled to be released on November 19, 2010. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0926084/ |

....and, The Deathly Hallows, Part II, is scheduled to be released on July 15, 2011.

Re: Book 007: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Ie will be interesting to see how close to the book they keep it.

Re: Book 007: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Without spoiling anything, I'm wondering where they intend to cut the book in two. Godric's Hollow seems like the most likely place.

Re: Book 007: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Seems like I read where they are going to split it, but I can't remember.

Re: Book 007: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
The first movie was pretty good. Saw that the other day.
Have to say this has been an amazing epic, and the girl who played Hermime has already cut her hair really short, moving away from the child image. :D |
Re: Book 007: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
The first half was amazing! They went a lot further than i thought they would. It stuck to the book very faithfully but I guess you can do that when you make a five hour film!
Part 2 is going to be pretty much action start to finish. I can't wait! |
Re: Book 007: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
We went to see it last Friday and really enjoyed it but, there were a few things that left me wanting.
- Too much (film) time spent in the woods with Harry and Hermoine. - No appearance by Dobby until near the end of the movie. No reference, whatsoever, made to his interactions with the other house elves at Hogwarts. It would have provided better linkage to their appearance in Part 2, at the battle. - Hedwig's death. It just..... happened. Otherwise, I thought it was well done. Probably 4.5/5 |
Re: Book 007: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
SPOILER ALERT! If you haven't seen the film, this might ruin something for you.
I agree. That section in the woods was long, but I felt that way about the book as well. I think it was for good reason, but it was very deliberately paced. Same goes for Hedwig. I felt that in the book it just sort of happened in a flash and then it was done with! I wish that Harry had removed Umbridge's "souvenir" from the door. I think that would have given it a bit more weight. They could have had a double burial at the end. |
Re: Book 007: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Finally getting around to reading this book. I just started it a couple of days ago and so far I like it as much as the movie!
