Hawii 5-0

Delightful Surprise.
Straight-up as a show, reminded me of the better aspects of Tango and Cash, with an attention to Hawii, like that found in Harry Turtledove's "Days of Infamy' series of books.
On the other hand, as a fan of the classic, this show lives up to its pedigree. Watching the car slide to stop the jeep, looked much like how they used to slide the Fords around on the original. And the police prodedure part actually paces and fits with the classic.
Faithful enough, and an interesting show anyways, I'm sure I'll tune in plenty of times.
If they could find an extra 15 seconds to squeeze in the original theme song, well with commercials and stuff, they probably need all the screen-time. A good show.

I am abit scared to watch to see it turned into just another cop show. It was so much more than the whole machismo thing. but I could try it if the theme song was played lol

The average TV show today runs about 43-44 minutes, once commercials are cut out. Back when Five-O began, it was closer to about 52 minutes. They gotta cut something.
