Model shot! Model shot!

I've just watched an ep of Stargate where Daniel and Jacob Carter were crashing in a Go'uld freighter and the shot started with the descent of the ship in CGI, then when the ship was crashing through a pine forest it was a model shot!

Trees were flying, it was just like an Eagle crash from Space 1999. I got all misty eyed!

Then it cut to a CGI shot of the ship plowing up dirt and coming to rest.

It was done very well, and it was nice to see the two techniques used to pull off the shot.

Peter

P.S. is it just me, or do the death gliders from the show remind you of Cylon Raiders?

Yes they do. Another thing that reminds me of BG is seeing the Jaffa in body armor.
