hardback novelization

The novelization of "Saga of a Star World," has several different covers in its paperback version. The paperbacks were sold everywhere.
There was also a hardback version, and the only ones I have seen were sold through Book of the Month Club (remember that?). If you've ever read book discussions on ebay, you will notice much contempt for Book of the Month Club hardbacks, unless it's a very rare book. Was the hardback book sold in stores? Or is it one of the book club rarities?

Re: hardback novelization

The hardcopy I have (titled just "Battlestar Galactica" by Glen A Larson and Robert Thurston) is a Berkley book, copyrighted by MCA Publishing in 1978. There is no mention of the Book of the Month Club, and there should be a "published exclusively for..." statement somewhere if that were the case.
