James Arness dead at 88

James Arness, who played one of my favorite tv characters, Marshal Matt Dillon, on Gunsmoke, died today at the age of 88. I'm truly saddened by his passing. I grew up on Gunsmoke -- Monday nights @ 8 pm, with Marshal Dillon, Festus, Miss Kitty, and Doc. I feel like a part of my childhood just passed into oblivion.

He will be missed. But had a good character and stayed with it.
