Ron Moore - The head of the Snake

...Well, we've all seen the depths to which Ron Moore would sink to get his way.

He has destroyed Galactica with his Abomination, and it turns out, using a fleet of imaginary "fans" to accomplish that end.

We must reach out to those who were decieved by him, and show them how they have been fooled, by Moore himself.

It's time to cut off the head of the Snake.

LSF,

Agreed. Should they be referred to Sandy's letter or will there be another method/thread, etc that will "show them how they have been fooled"?

Well BST

First off, the main force of the Enemy has been effectively neutralized by Sandy (TwoBrainCylon), now, we have to make sure EVERY newbie that comes here is greeted by not only the Truth, but with open arms as well.

Let them know what Ron Moore is making IS NOT, AND NEVER WILL BE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. It's a cheap rip-off, with a Lying, Conniving, Bastard at the Helm.

We need to make sure, on EVERY board, that Ron Moore finds NO HIDING PLACES, NO SANCTUARY. Everywhere he goes to try and solicite support, we need to make it our business to be there. We need to make certain we keep copies of EVERY example, and compile them for ANY POTENTIAL fan of Moore can be shown, THIS IS THE MAN WHO IS DESTROYING BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.

Ron Moore, I believe, was behind everything that has happened, with one goal in mind, to get his way, so he could become, as he is quoted as saying "The Next Gene Roddenberry".

Our True Enemy here has been revealled, and he stands without any real support. We have to keep up the heat, until this man, Ron Moore is no longer employable by anyone.

What he has done to Galactica, through his paid minion Milton, is unforgivable.

Let's not let him forget that not only do we know what he did, but that also, WE WILL NOT FORGET.

Nor, will we let him forget, either

Moore

He doesn't deserve our attention or efforts. Saving BG should be our first priority instead of wasting time with Moore, Milty, Bonnie, or Davie.

Kingfish

I agree, on FIRST priority should be Saving Galactica.

However, that means getting her out of the hands of this self glorified Punk to do it.

Short of that, the only Galactica, series or otherwise we will ever see, is one with Jiggling Sports Bras, and Cylon Handjobs.

That means reminding ayone who'll listen, that Ron Moore didn't Create Galactica (He's NEVER Created Anything new, for that matter) All Ron did was to come along and hijack the name, and sprinkle it with Trek, add in a dash of softcore porn, mix in a dose of Terminator and Blade Runner, and remove all traces of the original.

In short, he's a glorified Copy Boy allowed to vandalize Galactica.

So yes, I agree Kingfish, Our Priority IS to Save Galactica. But that means getting it away from someone who wants to destroy it for his own selfish ends

Traces of The Original

This fact has been bothering me and the answer is simple. Ron can not under any circumstances COPY Glen's work aka Sonny Bono law. Universal only ownes the name Galactica. Look at Zak Adama. The original character was Zac spelled with a C instead of a K. Also there are first and last names for all of the new characters. Kara Thrace is only "Starbuck" by handle and doesn't replace the original much loved character originated by the great Dirk Benedict. Even the ship designs vary from TOS. The Big G will probably slightly resemble the original.

A quote

This was taken from a Marvel Comics Graphic Novel 'Nick Fury vs. S.H.I.E.L.D.' I believe it's appropriate and should be driected at Ron, David, Milton and Bonnie.

"You took something that was good and noble, and made it into something twisted and rotten! And for that you're gonna pay!"

Well let's do it!

Let's cut the head off that snake.!

Our True Enemy

Moore is more like the tail of the snake. Like in Godfather III, "Our true enemy has yet to reveal himself."

I have seen our foe

I have seen the face of our enemy, he is indifferent to us, he sees us as no better a cluster of unwashed children needing his guidance. His name is Brian Diller.

I had the misfortune to watch him do an interview last week for a new interview show, it was barf-able. Well so much for my feelings.

The upshot of the interview was Mr. Diller is a card-carrying member of a small elitist group that inhabits the halls of the entertainment industry from time to time. They dislike the military intensely, most formed this opinion during the Viet Nam era and continue to this day seeing solders as either dumb louts that can’t make it in the civilian world or as evil thugs conspiring to conquer the world.

As a business manager Mr. Diller is known to be a very hands on manager and has directly influenced virtually every scheduling decision made on his channels. But when you really look at his track record the reality is there is nothing outstanding to see. While under his direction his cable channels turned in lackluster profits, far below what they should have done. And when asked what his proudest programming achievements were; he named “Married with Children” and “The Simpson’s”; he felt these set new standards in American programming. He views Science Fiction, the Para-normal and Horror as all part of the same class of film.

Where Mr. Diller really shines, however, is as an opportunist, he neatly setup his friend Mr. Broffman when as head of Seagram, Broffman bought Universal in the early 90’s. In that deal he encouraged Broffman to go too far into debt to buy Universal then “to help his friend” he bought the rights to Universal’s film library (for $5 Billion). This was money Broffman desperately needed to keep from going under. The film library at that time was valued at close to $10 Billion (pre Sonny Bono), so Diller gained control for not much more than half price. Also as part of the deal bought Universal’s proxy on the shares Universal owned in his own USA Network giving him control of 51% of the stock even though he only owned 8%.

When Vivendi Bought Universal he took them to the cleaners as well ($10 Billion), with out access to the USA network Universal was worth only a fraction of what Vivendi had paid for it. Broffman was summarily fired from the Board of Directors, and then CEO Messieurs had to cut a deal with Diller ($10 Billion) to regain control of the Universal film Library and the cable channels he thought Vivendi owned (remember the proxies).

When Diller left Universal he took with him some $10 Billion, most of which the ratepayers in France will have to pay off. But when you look at Diller’s actual businesses nothing rally stands out as a significant success. Yes does make good money in his transaction businesses but nothing like what Universal or one of the other major networks can produce.

In the entertainment industry Brian Diller is considered more of an opportunistic peripheral player than a mainstream player.
