Explain yourself pt#2 AVATAR PICS AND SIGNATURES

Well, having posted the other thread, I realise that some of you creative/witty/imaginative types have some very cool looking Avatar pictures and sig' quotes!

Some seem self explanatory, some slightly more obscure.

So bring them on, and explain the where's and what's and why's!

Mine is Draco himself, who stands in my lounge and menaces visitors.

(Gonna have to find myself a good sig now;))

Eric Paddon January 30th, 2006 10:59 AM

My sig is twofold. One sums up the one quote from TOS that best explains the nature of the Human-Cylon war and why it doesn't lend itself to a shades of gray perspective. The other is a succinct quote regarding one of the greatest plagues of the 20th century and all of world history for that matter.

A little CHAOS

a little chaos is good for
a little chaos is good for the
a little chaos is good for the soul?"
a little chaos is a good and necessary thing
a little chaos is helpful for a sluggish economy
a little chaos is normal on the first real day of any trip
a little chaos is the added ingredient that often wrong foots the state
a little chaos is actually a pretty small price to pay
a little chaos is part of everyday life
a little chaos is much less damaging than the absence of vision
a little chaos is ok like a little stress
a little chaos is really what makes this a unique album
a little chaos is such a bad thing? the chaos of innovation or the sameness of compliance
a little chaos is good for the soul?
a little chaos is
a little chaos is an aid to creativity
a little chaos is somewhat comforting in its familiarity
a little chaos is probable
a little chaos is good for the universe
a little chaos is a good description of how I see a classroom using technology
a little chaos is normal
a little chaos is yahoo
a little chaos is nice
a little chaos is ok <invective deleted> It's meant to be fun and relaxing and allow people to physically see how
a little chaos is a dangerous thing
a little chaos is kind of fun
a little chaos is hard work
a little chaos is a good thing
a little chaos is always necessary
a little chaos is good for the soul? One thing that makes art different from life is that in art things have a shape
a little chaos is expected and we can all live with that
a little chaos is necessary for the stability of the heart
a little chaos is unexpected virtue
a little chaos is desireable
a little chaos is in order here
a little chaos is good for everyone
a little chaos is acceptable; don’t get uptight with a little dirt; It just shows you, you need to clean up your act
a little chaos is just what the doctor ordered
a little chaos is good for the soul
a little chaos is always a bit more entertaining
a little chaos is a tricky thing
a little chaos is thrown into the mix to balance things out
a little chaos is all that one needs to set his priorities back on track
a little chaos is good for innovation"
a little chaos is proof you live
a little chaos is good; it is almost reminiscent of jefferson suggesting that a revolution every twenty years is healthy for a country
a little chaos is good for business
a little chaos is par for the course
a little chaos is good for the digestion
a little chaos is acceptable
a little chaos is always fun

Haven't really found an avatar. Not sure how to get one either. It's one of the simple things that eludes me.

Would like this as a quote though. Tried it once.

Quote:

One day, I shall come back, yes I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs, and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine.-William Hartnell, Doctor Who-The Dalek Invasion of Earth

JSC1,

To add an Avatar:

>Click on "USER CP" which is located in the dashboard right below the page header.
>Then, Click on "Edit Avatar".
>Then, Scroll down to the bottom of the page - Avatars can be uploaded in 2 different ways -- by way of an offsite link OR directly from your hard drive.

The only qualifiers are that it be no more than 120x120 pixels or 10K in size and that it be 'PG-rated'.

If you have any difficulty, please don't hesitate to PM me.

BST

:)

PS - The link to add a Signature is located on the same USER CP.

My sig is from the movie "The Mummy". I have that entire scene memorized and find it hilarious each time it’s on. The other part of my sig is my sci-fi story web site. There I post my stories ranging from original sci-fi to fanficiton in Battlestar Galactica, the largest collection, plus a few stories from Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon5 and a few others. I’m also going to be bringing up an alternative World War II story soon.

gmd3d January 31st, 2006 01:17 AM

Well my Avatar is the Commander of the Galactica "Adama" drawn by one of our members "scalf001"
www.chrisscalf-art.com and he kindly allowed me to use his work as my Avatar..

my sig is a line from the show by Adama at the height of the opening battle with the Cylons..

Lara January 31st, 2006 04:15 AM

I haven't mastered the image manipulation required to get a pic that meets the criteria yet, so no avatar.

Sig comes from a fanfic story of mine.

Cheers,
Lara

BRG January 31st, 2006 04:37 AM

Man of Steel.

My avatar is Superman , it is a picture by artist Alex Ross.
And, suprise suprise, BRG is a fan of the Metropolis Marvel! :D

My sig is a quote from the film 'Back to the Future', it is a brilliant film! :salute:

I tend to change out the sig in my posts every so often, depending on how clever I feel. The one below is my most recent silliness.

As for an Avatar, I havn't figured out the whole "getting it up there" process. I'm sure its very simple and someday when I'm bored at lunch I'll attempt to post a good pic of Space Glider from the Micronauts.

KamikazeAthena January 31st, 2006 02:10 PM

It's me!

Well, the pic is me. The name is pretty obvious I guess. Kamikaze comes from Dirk's inpact on my life (Thanks Kamikaze Cowboy!) and Athena because I always thought she was a soft-spoken giant waiting for the right moment to take power.

Athena is under-rated! Someday I will help her get her due!

I guess I need a sig, huh? Someday I will process a thought long enough to come up with one! :rotf:

Okay, this is a test post. To see if my new signiture takes.

Looks like it did.

Sept17th February 1st, 2006 12:57 AM

Well my signature is a shameless plug for my blog and my fan film’s web site.

My avatar here has always been a Cylon Centurion the clunky man in suit type, the new current version represents me and why I’m not watching Sci-Fi’s Friday night line up…I am too busy doing yard work.

gmd3d February 1st, 2006 01:20 AM

Looks like you been doing that yardwork for ages .. A question?? .. your holding that hose far away from you .. are you afraid of rusting :)
