Merry Christmas

When we awaken tomorrow it will be Christmas Eve. There will be last-minute runs to very crowded stores for another gallon of eggnog, or those little oranges that go in the toes of the stockings. There will be happily frantic moments in the kitchen as the feast is prepared - will the roast be done (and not under- or over-done) at the right time? Do I want that much cream cheese in the twice-baked potatoes? How much salt is too much salt?

Do we let the oldest granddaughter have a sip of wine?

Do we have enough wrapping paper for all those presents? How many bulbs have the cats knocked off the tree?

Must we really listen to that Christmas CD again?

And then, when we're all at the table, laughing and eating, we realize just how blessed we really are. When we see the joy on their faces as they open their gifts - it makes every moment of frustration in making it happen worth it, in spades.

Mrs. Dawg and I send our best wishes and hopes to you all, that you may have a joyous Christmas, and a wonderful New Year.

I am
Dawg (John)

Merry Christmas to one and all you fabulous warriors! :salute:

I wish you all a fantastic holiday season and to my endeared friends here on the fleets(you know who you are!), stay safe, keep warm or cool(wherever you reside in the 13th colony), and may a great yahren be in store for each of you!

Regal Yule tide wishes! :girl: :colonial: :rose:

P.S. CBSG4ever, are you free for a kiss under the mistletoe?....I'll keep you company while Lyra's away..... :rotf:

Wonderful sentiments Dawg. I think we can all identify with most or all of them. It was very well said.

Warrior, Love the card. That really is classic! (is it just me or does the Cylon wearing the Santa hat kinda remind anyone of....the Grinch? :D )

And Sarika, there's plenty of room under the mistletoe for you! :naughty: :D (Darn, Santa says I'm being a naughty boy, so I'm getting a lump of coal for Christmas. )

Thanks to the three of you, and anyone else here at Fleets, for the well-wishes and good thoughts during this time of year. Wouldn't it be great if all of us could keep those sentiments in mind every day, and not just for the Holiday season? That would be something wonderful indeed.

I would also like to extend to everyone a very Merry Christmas and may we all have a safe and happy New Year (er...Yahren). Best to everyone from little ol' me to you and yours. :salute:

A Babylon Five Christmas
(with apologies to Clement Clarke Moore)

'Twas the night before Christmas
And all through B-Five,
We were all stuggling
To keep our best hope alive.

The fighters were hung
In the hangers with care,
In case any Shadows
Appeared from thin air.

The Aliens were hiding
All scared in their quarters,
While visions of holocaust
Raced 'cross their borders.

With Susan and Michael,
And I in C-N-C,
We had to keep lookout
For trouble, you see.

When right out of space dock,
There arose a commotion,
I sprang from my console
To set Security in motion.

Away to the docks
I ran quite abrupt,
My PPG loaded
And fully charged up.

When what do my wondering
Eyes look upon?
One of the Vorlons,
Encounter suit on.

I suddenly thought of
My father, by Gosh!
I knew in a minute
It had to be Kosh.

He was dressed in his helmet,
With flowing dark robes,
And looked like he filled up
With several small strobes.

His "eye" -- how it twinkled!
His shoulders -- so strong!
And how does he hover
For so very long?

More distant than galaxies,
His simple voice came.
We heard all the windchimes
As he called us by name:

"On Sheridan! On Susan!
On Delenn and Lennier!
On Michael! On Marcus!
You've always been here!".

"To the edge of the stars
The Shadows will call.
Now run away! Run Away!
Run away all!"

And then, in a twinking,
In my mind did appear,
All of my friends
Looking quite queer!

All of them asking,
"Do you know who you are?"
They seemed to talking
From near and from far.

And there was my father,
"Dad, why are you here?",
I asked. But he answered,
"Listen and hear!".

The room was then filled
With such music and lights!
It really unnerved me,
And gave me the frights!

I stood there and listened,
As was my duty.
And then said the Vorlon,
"A moment of Beauty."

Then a wink of his "eye",
And a twist of his head.
Soon gave me to realize
I don't know just what he said!

He spoke no more words,
Just whistles and chimes.
I hate when he does that!
(It bugs me at times!).

Into his ship
He disappeared fast,
And out through the space doors
He left in a blast!

The others said, "What
Did he say to you?".
To which I replied,
"I haven't a clue!"
