Beautifull, is there a small landing bay anywhere? for a squadren of raptor scout ships or a couple of vipers.

EXCELLENT job on the cruiser, keep up the good work :salute:

Dyonisis October 23rd, 2006 06:07 PM

she carries 12 vipers, 6 raptors and 4 shuttles. her launch tubes are 6 port and starboard. her landing bay is in her aft between the engines. i just havent quit figured out how to draw it yet.

Dyonisis October 27th, 2006 09:32 PM

She is a light cruiser, she is able to launch 12 vipers and has 16 heavy guns, 1 heavy pulse cannon, 205 smaller guns. crew is about 1,500. her length is 3,500 feet from stem to stern. her role is to intercede and disrupt any attacks from raiders or missles.

evil_genius_180 October 28th, 2006 12:49 AM

That's awesome. I love that shot with the Galactica. Did you draw the Galactica also?

verath October 28th, 2006 12:57 AM

Nifty.

Dyonisis October 28th, 2006 06:58 PM

no i used an ortho of the galactica.

Oovebei October 30th, 2006 12:35 AM

Ahh fantastic stuff, I have been wondering how a cruiser would stand next to a Battlestar :)

Qeutzal October 30th, 2006 06:04 AM

will you be doing a 3d model of your light cruiser or stick with 2d?

Oovebei October 30th, 2006 09:15 AM

I am hoping for a 3D version personally :salute:

Dyonisis October 30th, 2006 04:52 PM

You can do work to almost professional standards with Blender (with a little practice), I would suggest you just jump in and give it a try (Blendernation is a good resource) :D

gmd3d November 1st, 2006 02:25 PM

true .. and good to have you here :) as there are a number of CGI people here :) using different programs .. as you may have discover already:)

One of our most prolific is Stevew .. A truespace user .. man most of his stuff for Galactica is mind blowing .. I started on Truespace and my PC just about handle the details that he adds to them .. that before I move to Lightwave ..

Then there silentbobs landing deck animation in progress these last few weeks .. CF is really taking off with the artistic endeavours :) .

Dyonisis November 1st, 2006 06:24 PM

ok the problem im have is trying to use my jpegs and opening them in blender

Oovebei November 1st, 2006 11:22 PM

Ok here we go:

1, Open View and Background Image
2, Click on the hand next to the word image
3, Select the jpeg you want to use
4, Make sure the button 'use background image is selected' on the box in part 2
5, Press 1 on the numberpad (with numlock on)

You should see your image

For numberpad - 1 is side view, 7 is top view and 3 in front view.

I hope this info is what you want :salute:

Dyonisis November 2nd, 2006 06:32 PM

ok that helps on how to upload the images. but i cannot find a tutorial on how to take the 2d image and make a 3d image from it. im sorry if i sound stupid for asking these questions.
