Who Said It ???

The idea for this started on The Last Person thread. I asked a question about a line from a particular show and requested the name of the show (then, later, added another question about "which episode" and "who said it".

So,.......whaddya think? Wanna play?

The question:

Older man says to younger man, "there's no right way to hit a woman".
  • What show?
  • What episode?
  • Who were the 2 characters involved in the conversation?

My thought was that the person correctly answering the questions will get to ask the next one.

:D

Anything for you, m'dear!

On this question, Rowan has correctly guessed the show - Star Trek (TOS).

Now, let's see -- about the clue:

The 2 people involved in the conversation were a recurring series regular and a guest star.

The show aired in the 1st season.

Perhaps an audio clip will help: http://home.comcast.net/~darthmarley/wrongway.mp3

"there's no right way to hit a woman".

"Then do it the wrong way!"

Rowan May 19th, 2004 09:36 PM

Cool Darth how did you do that?

the woman sounds a little like Katey Sagal...

and william Shatner? but I thought it was a older man to a younger man?

Darth Marley May 19th, 2004 09:45 PM

Morbo has all the answers.

Absolutely right on target. Good job, Potemkin.
Honorable mention to Darth, that was a hoot!! :D

For Rowan, at the time of the conversation, Captain Kirk was in his 30's and Charlie was in his late teens/early twenties.

Darth Marley May 20th, 2004 02:32 AM

Well, I obviously didn't want to give the correct answer.

Trying to think of a line from a show is more difficult than I thought.
so here's one.

Two men in a sheriffs office one is sittting in a chair the other is standing the newly ellected sheriff is think of how to arrest or stop another man.

the standing man ask's "why don't I shot him??"
the other man replies
"NO NO don't do that, if you shoot him you'll just make him mad"

:salute:

amberstar May 22nd, 2004 04:06 PM

Was it the Andy Griffith Show, with Andy Taylor and Barney?????????

Darth Marley May 22nd, 2004 07:15 PM

Good Job BST! Looks like it's your turn again ;)

Rowan June 1st, 2004 01:43 PM

BST were waiting....;) :D

BST June 1st, 2004 02:05 PM

Oh, alright already. A simple mind can only work so fast!! ;)

Here's an easy one --

"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!"

Now, since it's sooooo easy -- in addition to naming the movie and the characters involved, you also need to name the actor(s). Bonus point for naming the year that the movie was released, from memory, WITHOUT checking the web. "Honor system".

;)

Rowan June 1st, 2004 02:53 PM

Gone with the Wind

Scarlett O'hara.....Vivien Leigh

Rhett Butler.....Clark Gable
I don't know what year but it was around the time of WWII, sorry if I misspelled the names
facinating story about the woman who wrote the book, I remember watching a movie about her life once. I've seen Gone with the Wind way too many times ;) :D

amberstar June 1st, 2004 03:08 PM

One of my favorite movies! I've seen it way too many times too..
Good job, Rowan you beat me to it!:)

Amber

BST June 1st, 2004 05:09 PM

Good job, Rowan.

Also, your guess about the WWII time frame was right on the mark. The year was 1939.

:)

You're up!!
