One thing you have to remember is scale. At the present time it's got to be larger in order to scale with the series.

:)

Scale is a challenge :)

I like it. Is that the final picture? Just wondering about that.

Re: Big G's Landing Deck CGI

Its for me the final for now .. I model more now than render pictures .. I am rebuilding it or I am going to rebuild it soon .... but for now my attention is in Buck Rogers starfighter ,,just for a wee break :)

its been awhile since I worked on this model ..

I wanted to address some issue of scale .. but I donĀ“t want to rebuild this model .. I am working on other projects as some of you may know,
but this was calling me to at least make some fix..

at times I will at times go and tweak thing now and then

I reduce the windows in the control area .. and added a hatch below and reduced the control panel to the right....

also reduced the scale of the triangular shapes where the Vipers are stored before going to there pens (that's my idea)

Great update. Love the detail to the door ways.

Re: Big G's Landing Deck CGI

thanks .. I have not work on this set for a few years. I am going over time to see if I can improve on it more ,,,,,, but I at the moment I am working on some Trek models for a fan film and that will take more of my time.

Re: Big G's Landing Deck CGI

I've been too busy to do any modeling for far too long now, and only get a chance to look in here occasionally, but I'm glad to see some work done on this one. I really like this model a lot, and I think it captures then implied look of the landing bays very well. The re-scaling looks much better now.
I really miss working on my Galactica models :(

I thought it was time to look at it again .... but this will be slow going .. while I think of how add some small features to re-enforce the scale of the deck. the small hatch helps. so I was thinking of adding more .. "emergency hatches"

Wow, love the detail...

Very cool... Nice work...

I love all the pipes and junction boxes... I need to learn how to come up with detail like that.

That is my weak spot.

I remember it took me weeks to get right ......

what I did as far as I remember ..

I built a smaller section between the ceiling supports that you can see .. and cloned them and stretched it out to fill the bay . same with the pipes and such.. there are handy tools in LW for that.. possible in other programs :salute:

Are there any tutorials on lightwave and how to texture models?

I'm curious how lightwave goes about this.

Re: Big G's Landing Deck CGI

I'll second that suggestion from Taranis for Foundation3d. Even though I'm a 3DSMax user I still learn a lot on that site, and the WIP section there is truly inspiring and can give you a lot of ideas.

Not the tutorials, but the stuff you have already done yourself.
Like I said, call me retarded, but I don't see the link.
