Hey everyone -

I know that these days, some people are dwelling on the future of Trek, but I just saw a brief trailer that encompasses forty years of Trek. It actually gave be a bit of a lump in my throat as it reminded me why I like that franchise so much, not why I don't at times. It almost makes me understand why people could donate close to 3 million dollars to keep it going...

Take a look:

Brilliant! :) And I loved the music.(I think it's from First Contact?)

It is easy too see why Star Trek has lasted 40 years. And although it will dissapear from our screens for a few years here and there, I believe Star Trek will still be going strong after we are all dead!

I hope Enterprise can be saved. It's a good show, and deserves a fair crack of the whip.

That was a very nice piece. They did a great job putting it together. I have to agree, using the music from First Contact fit perfectly. I've always loved that. And to be honest, I got a little lump in my throat when the image from the Motion Picture with Kirk seeing Enterprise for the first time came up.

*sniff*
I got something in my eye...

Top Gun (and any others having problems viewing the trailer) -

If you are having problems viewing the trailer, I suggest that you address them to TrekUnited.com. I had no problems viewing it myself. My only guess is that you're either using the wrong viewer to look at it, or whatever viewer you're using is out of date and needs updating.

Best regards,
Bryan

The link goes straight to the .avi. And it’s a pretty sizable file. I have a high speed connection and even for me it took a little while for it download. So for dialups it may seem like nothing is happening while in reality its just taking a LONG time to download and play.

Or maybe not.

Could be codecs too. I haven't viewed it, but is it in DIVX codec format? Not everyone has that codec.

It is in fact Divx. Good call Warrior. A trip to divx.com might be in order for some people.

Do you have hte latest version?

In fact, I finally downloaded the AVI myself. When I checked the properties, it showed the Xvid version 4 of the Divx codec.

Getting the absolute latest Divx codecs should solve the problem.

One other thing- My vid card isn't the greatest. Playing the video in Media Player created havok with it. But watching it in my PowerDVD program, it played fine. Go figure

Got PC DVD Player software, like PowerDVD?

I know PowerDVD lets you play other file types like AVI or MPG as well as DVD's.

Might want to try that....

Got it to work, I had to save it to my Hard Drive first, but I could play it on WinAmp after that. It was great, and I Love the intro to FC
