Kubrick 2001: The Space Odyssey Explained (http://www.kubrick2001.com/)
Stanley Kubrick's '2001' begins at dawn, in prehistoric Africa. But let's take one step back in time, and try to imagine what happened, on a fateful night four million years ago.
A powerful source enters our solar system, near Jupiter. A monolith was deliberately planted by an extra-terrestrial. But why here, near a tribe of sleeping apes?

Amazing, amazing site. Not only did it help clear up the structure and what Krubrick had in mind, it also helped me develop so questions of my own, to further evaluate the film.
Truly, a film ahead of its time, especially considering where we stand now with technology.

That's awsome! I always have loved 2001, Kubrick's attention to detail and the relaistic spacecraft were always the turn-ons for me. Discovery alone was worth the movie. I love that ship.
There is a site on the 'net where the guy is building a repro-suit. I am sure people here know about it, but it is really cool, I will find the link and post it.
