Fans Rally For Enterprise

The Star Trek: Enterprise fan groups Save Enterprise and The Enterprise Project have joined forces as Enterprisefans.com to raise money for a USA Today ad during February sweeps arguing that UPN renew the low-rated show.

The campaign hopes to raise $14,994 through Feb. 14, 2005, for an ad to run in the newspaper's Feb. 18 editions. The ad will urge viewers to watch Enterprise and cut out and sign a declaration of support for the show, to be sent to Les Moonves, co-president of Viacom and chairman and chief executive of UPN's parent network, CBS.

If the groups fail to raise enough money for an ad, organizers said that they will substitute a less costly means of promoting Enterprise, with alternate plans posted on their Web site.

We did this. I saw the CFF ad and was proud to be a fan.

They've got a tight deadline to raise just over 10,000 more. The one thing with CFF is that we had lots more time and not quite that much money to raise.

It's great they want to do a newspaper ad, but what that show really needs is viewers.....

What about that syndication deal for next fall - is that for episodes that have already been produced, or is it for the new season? Just wondering...

Best,
