Hi everyone,

I just read this about James Doohan's last convention, and it was a very good report on it. I wish I could've been there. I met him three times, and he's always great to see.

I guess it was around 1991 or so, I saw him in Austin, TX, and while he was answering questions on stage, I got to ask him a question.

"Would you ever consider appearing on Star Trek: The Next Generation?"

"No Laddie, I just would'na want to appear that old."

I raised my hand again. He said to the audience, "Looks like he has another question," and laughed.

"What if it were a time-travel episode?"

"Ach! You're just bound and determined to get me on that show!"

Later, in the autograph line, I gave him my script. He leaped out of the chair, pen in hand, made a big show of stabbing me with it and laughed, "An impromptu script!!!"

He signed it and kept a copy.

Ken
