Everytime Stargate airs a new show, Scifi Channel proudly proclaims "A Scifi Original Series"

Yeah... well... I think Showtime might disagree with that. ;)

Well, as the Nazis used to say, if you must tell a lie, tell a big one.

it does not surprise me that the rip off artist at the sci-fi channel are claiming stargate as "a sci-fi original series". since it is the only new real sci-fi that they show now. the rest is horror and reality.

You know I heard that just last night and was thinking 'since when?'

Those of us who have been with the show since inception KNOW that it was started by Showtime - since I couldn't watch it when it first aired because the area I lived in didn't have cable yet. I got Showtime just TO get Stargate!!!

::grumble::

Anyway - it's amazing the lies that Sci-Fi loves to tell!

SciFi has always referred to shows which they produce as "original" series going back to Sliders. Regardless of where they originated Scifi calls them "original." It's one of those "sort of the truth but not quite" phrases the Channel is famous for. The episodes, after all, are original to the channel. I take far more 'offense' with the way they buy airing rights to low budget movies and call them "Scifi Original Pictures." At least with Stargate SciFi is partially funding the show, all those movies are just bought after the fact.
