According to stories at Gateworld.net, it seems from what I've read, that he's only in the season-premiere two-parter. I couldn't find his name in any other episode. So hopefully it'll all be explained on June 13. :)

Well, I got some good news, and I got some bad news.
The good news is, that there seems to be a little more than that one episode, containing Corin Nemec......
Robert Cooper, executive producer of the SCI FI Channel original series Stargate SG-1, told SCI FI Wire that the show's seventh season will showcase the talents of stars Christopher Judge, Amanda Tapping and Michael Shanks both behind and in front of the camera. "The actors are getting more involved creatively this year," Cooper said in an interview. "Chris has written an episode. Michael will be writing one for later in the season. Amanda is going to direct an episode in the second half, and Corin Nemec is returning for an episode that will play in the second half and is based on a story Corin pitched."http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/art-sfc.html?2003-05/16/12.00.sfc
The bad news is, that information on the season is still pretty vague. But there should be more as the season premiere approaches. Perhaps even some light shed upon it, during the one-hour special before it.
I hope this perks ya up somewhat. :)

I watch Stargate, but I have found it not as interesting in the past year. I am still playing catch up having missed much of season 6? I think, when they switched to scifi. My local network station was 1 season behind so I never did see what happed to Daniel or where Jonas came from before scifi started their season.

I remember getting some info from a stargate site awhile ago.
Richard Dean Anderson, aka Col O'Neill, will not be working a full season as an actor. Filming is in Vancouver, Canada while his little girl is in Los Angeles, USA. And he believes he should be with his kid. So he will not be in every episode.
And I also remember hearing that Corin Nemec, who plays Jonas, is still on the payroll.
So if I had to bet, I woud say Anderson will do a few episodes, then come on and be with his kid for awhile. And when he is gone, I bet they will bring in Jonas to fill in to maintain a team of four SG1 members.

It was really good to see Daniel back, but I'm glad they don't kill Jonas and will bring him back at least in another episode for sure after the two premiere episodes. I was hoping to see him with the team or at least in the base like Hammond and Dr. Fraiser characters.
It was good to see Daniel and Jonas working together in the two first episodes. Since Jonas character was introduce I was looking forward to see this two together.

I watched this weeks episode titled Revisions in which the team finds itself on a planet where a computer controls everything. This episode seemed interesting until the end when they finally pull the plug on the murderous computer. Something bothered me about it. I have seen the same plot before on TOS Star Trek in an episode titled The Return of the Archons in which Landru controlled a society. In the Stargate episode the people rise up against O'Neill and he almost has to kill his attacker. On the Trek episode, Kirk and company use their Phasers to stun the attackers into unconciousness.
emerita
July 15th, 2003, 10:09 AM
Hmmmmm...I don't know if I would call the computer in Revisions muderous....ok..ok ....it did kill people but it was only doing what the society had told it to do....to see that the community survived....at any cost...I guess....well, anyway It does follow the TOS, ST. I wonder if they indeed pulled the plug. I shall go back and watch it again. If they didn't then it would have just shortened itself until it could sustain the area...but then they wouldn't want the Gou'ald coming in and getting it.
I am sure they may get ideas from "other" places :p

Yes, Paul, it has been signed for an eight season.....Next season will make it longer than any of the individual Star Treks shows lasted....
I also think it is good that RD is taking time to be with his child. I do hope they bring Jonas back to fill his absenses. Or maybe bring in a new character...that would be intresting....say....a 52 year old female...I know I know... but it was worth a shot) To have the actors out for an episode makes it seem more real. In real life, the team could not be together every single mission.....but this doesn't mean that we won't miss O'Neill by any means.........
kingfish
July 26th, 2003, 08:57 AM
I watched it and it quickly became RDA lite. It could have been better if there was more of a conflict between O'Neill and Colonel Edwards. In the original Stargate movie O'Neill was like Colonel Edwards and this episode could have shown the growth of the O'Neill character. Teal'C stood around and did nothing. I would have rather watched a Teal'C centered episode. At least Teal'C doesn't bore one to death. Next weeks episode looks RDA lite as well. Boy do I hope I am wrong.

What I like more of Enemy Mine was seeing Chaka again and of course the guest star of Michael Roorke as Colonel Edwards. I always have love Roorke stubborn characters representations. This guy is great. But I agree it would be great to see more O'Neill/Edwards interaction. I hope we see Colonel Edwards more and posibly have more of that.

I have a feeling we will see more of Colonel Edwards as he is promoted to lead SG-1 in place of O'Neill.
thomas7g
July 26th, 2003, 02:48 PM
Ya know... it sees to me that Chaka has evolved about 500 years since we last seen him. :D
I also miss the fact that this would have been another great O'Neil vs Daniel episode. But well... I guess we lost there but on the plus by having someone else it gives the sg world a more expansive environment. its about time we saw more action from the OTHER SG teams!
Also getting more Naquada means we may be seeing more ships in season 8. :D

Yeah, I agree with that. In the positive side we get to see more action of the others. Although I miss O'Neill. The good part also is that he have his cameo in the episodes. So we don't miss him entirely. :)
Wow, Space Race was just awesome. I really find it very entertaining and fun to watch. It was good to see Sam having so much fun in this episode. The commentators of the race were hilarious and the commercials very funny.

I don't think they will take Jack off of the team, They will probably have him fly up to Canada and film all of his scenes at once then edit them in. At least that is what I would do. He is a big part of this. Losing him would mean losing alot of fans.....

they say its the SUMMER finale.
Which is kinda stupid cause we are almost all out of summer.
The next episode after the Jolene Blalock one is Evolution part one. Then comes Evolution part two starting whenever they finally get it on the schedule. After that there are still 10 more episodes before season 7 ends.
Yup... scifi is the most screwed up station around.....

Yes, is the time for the recess. They always did this. The next episode is going to be the last then the recess and then they begin again. Of course during the recess, Scifi totally lost me as viewer, well, except to catch Timecop.

Their split season habit is what doomed Farscape ratings. As soon as the show starts rolling and they start getting people interested they cut it for 4 months so as not to compete with the network broadcast shows. I read that they don't think they can compete with the other networks so they only show their first runs during summer and mid winter, when other shows are in reruns. I guess no one noticed that Stargate used to run during the regular season before and did just fine for 5 years.
Looks like they will never learn. :/:

Ok I live in the UK too. However have seen the first 4 episodes of SG1 already. Simply put Jonas goes back to his own planet. However there were rumours that he would play a recurring role. But not in the first four episodes.
BTW look out for an episode called Lifeboat, it really tests Michael Shanks acting abillities to the limit. It is also a really good episode, at one time you used to get episodes of Star Trek that were as good as that honest.
thomas7g
August 26th, 2003, 05:35 PM
The Lifeboat episode was episode 7x06. Last week they aired the "summer finale" which was a cliffhanger, part one of a two part episode. Evolution was episode 7x11. Now we are on repeats.
