The ABC/CBS series starring Lynda Carter?

Well, a year before ABC aired the Lynda Carter "Wonder Woman" movie/pilot, they aired another movie/pilot version starring Cathy Crosby. It was a radically different look at Wonder Woman, very far away from it's source, the comic book character. The pilot was a flop.

But a year later ABC financed another Wonder Woman movie pilot, closer to the comic character with Carter. It went on to become a limited run series on ABC and a regular series on CBS.

I still think that if this Galactica mini flops we could see TPTB wise up and make another stab at it with a continuation.

Stranger things have happened.

Lynda Carter (AKA Wonder Woman) is in a new movie called "Tattered Angel" and she and the other cast members (who I've never heard of) will be at a special screening of the film on Monday, June 6, at Newport, Ky.'s, AMC Theater (across the river from downtown Cincinnati). Tickets are $50 and $100 and proceeds benefit the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. For more information call (513) 351-3464 or log on to

To go back to the original post of this long-ago thread, the Lynda Carter WW series did a complete flip back into bad territory once it moved from ABC to CBS and updated the setting from WWII to the present. The entire comic book fun of the series got destroyed in the process and we got served up stories that were ridiculously trendy and stupid (such as Martin Mull of all people as a mad rock star, and Eve Plumb as one of his groupies!) and then as the series progressed just flat out boring as Diana Prince made no serious attempt to disguise herself.

I sincerely hope the upcoming movie sticks to a WWII setting.

Well, since that would be the BEST route, Eric, doubtless it will be the other that they decide to take.
