Remember thinking that the Hawiian-styles and lush setting looked a lot like the classier scenes out of BG. Also thought that Richard Hatch could play the older Apollo a lot like McGarrett. Wondered if McGarrett's hair would be considered a 70's mop-head style by the new production.

One of the episodes of Hawaii Five-O featured Dirk Benedict. Durring the commercial break there was an ad for the BG reruns in syndication. This was when UPN was the WWOR network. Those were the days.

As a SciFi aside, did you know that Jack Lord was once offered the part of Captain Pike in the original Star Trek?

My father used to watch Hawaii 5-0 all the time, but I don't remember anything about it except for the introduction music and that big wave!

Dad never watched BSG, which is why I didn't learn anything about it until the age of 38 (and this was done almost by force - I didn't want to watch BSG and thought it would be dumb)...
