I was always impressed with what they pulled off FX wise in Buck Rogers. They really did alot with what they had in a short amount of time.

yes I agree it has a quality about them .. it is just a pity the producers never followed on the displaced aspect of bucks life in the 25th century.. instead of the wise cracking bond
agent aspect .. which I liked ,, but would have loved to have seen what stories would have developed

I think the pilot movie of Buck had a really good mix of fun, and some character story. Nothing too heavy, but enough to make it interesting. Loved the idea of Buck going into the ruins of Chicago, and that certain people were left to live in the radioactive wastelands. I think it was called Anarchia. However for the series it became one scifi Bondesque adventure and did little to take the characters seriously. Too bad.
When the show first aired I wouldn't miss it, (of course I was 10). However Buck to me was true camp, and because of that approach it does not have rewatchability for me. Original BSG has been wrongly labled as camp. It is a product of the time, but it tried to keep some continuity and believability to the characters.
Back to the effects for a moment... one fun thing for me while watching Buck was to find the BSG models and props that were used throughout the show.
