100 Reasons to Watch 'Jericho'

Thursday, January 17, 2008

As Jericho gets set to return on Tuesday, February 12, CBS is getting the word out about the show in every way they can. They've already premiered an action packed promo that left fans buzzing, and now they've introduced an extremely funny video entitled "100 Reasons to Watch Jericho." In just under two minutes, a highly caffeinated announcer rattles off a hundred reasons to tune in to the apocalyptic drama when it returns for its second season. I guarantee that you won't hear the word "Skeet," as in series star Skeet Ulrich, so many times in one place ever again. Your Take

Here are some of my favorite reasons to watch Jericho that are mentioned in the video: laser guns, lazy dogs, Indiana Jones homages, the only cyber cafe in Kansas, chicks drinking before noon, unnecessary dives, and, of course, Ashley Scott in a red tank top. There are 93 more reasons to be found in the video, and as each one is mentioned you can tell that somebody had a whole lot of fun editing this thing together.

While this video is definitely funny for those of us who are already involved with the show, it could prove useful at recruiting new fans as well. The video seems to focus heavily on the hotness of Skeet Ulrich and the gorgeousness of Ashley Scott, and also spends a lot of time on explosions, angry mobs, gun battles, and car accidents. One way to lure in new viewers is to promote the sex and the violence present in the series, and while it may not be the classiest marketing idea, it works every time.

Watch the video for yourself below. Which of the 100 reasons mentioned is your reason for watching Jericho?
