Okay, I do not know if this is true or not, or if anyone else has posted about it or noticed it. But, in the two hour series of BattleStar Galactica, before or after the Cylons attacked, the Serenity was seen floating around. The Serenity is a firefly class transport ship from the FireFly verse.
Just thought I'd let y'all know.

It is true. And I understand we see a USS Enterprise in the same scene. We also saw representatives of the BSG rag-tag fleet in an episode of Enterprise a few years ago. And there are other examples.
I understand this is a fairly common practice among CGI animators, paying homage to favorite ships of other franchises. They make them small and in the background so they are not obvious, and are easily missed, because they are a technical violation of copyright. But it is a tribute to what came before, and everyone enjoys finding those little gifts.
I recall we did discuss this back in 2003/4, before Colonial Fleets ceased discussing the Skiffy re-imagining. I imagine the individual thread went away when we closed those forums. If you would like more information about that subject, our FAQ page is the best place to go:
