I was playing around with the texture settings and came up with this one. It isn't as realistic but its still fun. I like it because it seems to have a distinctive Ray Harryhausen feel to it, at least for me.

Although I like the look of the one above a lot, I went with something a bit more believable for the animation. It still has a Harryhausen feel to me so I could live with it.
