At some point soon I’ll be compiling list of what is needed. Yeah, that helps when making a film. I want to throw this one out there now.

Viper Cockpit

We need a damn good impressive Viper cockpit. It should be easy to assemble/dis-assemble and store. It should look like the image. If you have what it takes and want to help contact me.

I'll post more pics when battlestargalactica.com is back up.

We have made a big leap forward in my opinion securing the Green Screen and studio space. Some changes to script are slowing down progress on final We Need Lists. For example the viper cockpit above. For now I’d like to gauge just how many would be willing to loan bridge officer uniforms.

So how many?

The holiday weekend and Shakespeare have not allowed me the time to work on the script as I had planned. Here are some big changes for the project. I’m going to flesh out the story to a full episode. Originally the project was to be an extended trailer popular in the fan film genre. AO is going to send me some fleshing out of his own. We’ll send notes back and forth as needed but nail down the script by July. Pre-production work will continue and the production is not being slowed down. We’re just getting more epic baby!

To summarize:

We’ll release probably two or three trailers this year, then finally a full episode length story.

Since this thread is partly about what this film production needs I must say the silence about borrowing bridge officer uniforms is deafening. We want to get Bigger-Bolder and More Epic, the fanbase needs to kick in a little.

FANTASTIC news !!! So amazing to hear your going to a full episode. Hearing that has really made my day.

Don't let the lack of replies from people put you off(as I know others have) because we've all experienced it, but the hit counter on my site shows people are interested, more than the number of messages I've had times ten.

If I had a bridge officer's uniform I would lend it to you. But I don't....and don't know of any CF regulars who do. I've offered all I can (script feedback and download mirror)

Keep the faith in your project !

An update to the Volunteering section of the forums.

Foley Artist/Sound Designer

Have the talent and passion for sound design work? Knowledgeable in the post production process of film making in the DV age? We need a talented sound designer/Foley artist to give Battlestar Galactica: The 14th Colony the right sound effects to match the epic images.

PM the usual suspects my self or RJ.
If interested in working on the film please visit the how to volunteer threads, we still need some good help.

I'm sorry as I have no 'uniform' to loan out. I'd loan one out if I did have one.

I wish I could be a part of the fan film (via production crew, etc...)

But my time is not my own.

GOod luck with the film :salute:

Hi everyone! This is my first post, and what a wonderful topic to start with! Like the rest of you, my heart lies with the original BSG, and my heart sang when I saw the trailer on fanfilms.org. I wish I can help with this project. Just wanted to say, its absolutely fantastic, please keep up the good work, from one fan to another! :)

If you haven't got one yet, I can make one pretty realistic if you want,,Bad thing is ,,it won't be very compact. I can leave the windows out but if you want the cockpit hood to open back and forth then it will have to be built as one piece. As for the instrument panels and stuff, Thats the easy part,And if you have an extra cheapo pc,,I could even set up a neat battle schmatic on a monitor in it.
Let me know. Need any cgi stuff?

Hello,
Depending where you are bulky won’t matter. A quality cockpit mock up that I don’t have to build will be a huge help. Count me as very-very interested. As for CGI issues contact our FX chief his handle here is rjandron.

I wish I had a uniform to offer up but I also don't have such a thing. Wish I had one of the warrior uniforms with the cape. Those rock even by todays standards.

I don't have a great deal of time but If you need any sound work done, I would be happy to.

In case you have not seen but are interested...

Production on The Passing Drummers has wrapped that cast and crew will make up most of my cast and crew. Over all I found the shoot a pleasurable experience and really look forward to seeing the final result. There where some rough patches amongst some and I’ll be reaching out to smooth things over and keep enthusiasm for Battlestar Galactica: The 14th Colony high. The last day of shooting included some green screen work, giving me an opportunity to conduct some limited testing.

Auditions for Battlestar Galactica: The 14th Colony are at The Gaslight Theatre, 221 N. Independence Ave, Enid, Oklahoma on January 27th from 11am-3pm. While some roles have been cast most have not, I’ll welcome help on props, set and locations as well. Some costumes are already available and work for some cast members should begin in February. Most cast members will be measured and costumes made for them, their shooting will begin in March.

The script is basically done with some tweaking of dialog and scenes going on but we are ready to get busy. The FX team continues producing amazing model and animation work.

This is awesome how you have stepped up to the plate to take this on.

I know Tom Desanto is super busy with transformers but being as big of a fan as he is of Galactica, I wonder if he's looking forward to seeing this just like the rest of us?

By the way, I haven't forgotten about sending you a sample of something I've done. As soon as the Holidays are over, I'll gear it up.

Acually, you might remember that I did up a trailer for Darrell using his awesome CGI and put sound to that.
I didn't have the time to pan and master the sound properly after mixing it but Darrells Animation takes center stage anyway and it serves up an example of what I can do.

I myself would love to come out to audition. Unfortunately my bank account won't allow me to do multiple trips from Ohio to Oklahoma. One trip maybe to do any scenes you would want me to do, but that's about it.

Is it possible you could arrange a system so that those actors that are out of state interested in participating could send an audition video tape or something? You send out a monologue and they send back a tape of them reading it, as well as any other information you might need or want?

How's The 14th Colony coming? I've been getting questions on my YouTube page about it.
