One of the joys being a fan of the Battlestar Galactica still brings me, is collecting pictures and articles on the show.

I got this today:

PREMIERE

Terry Carter (standing) and Maren Jensen (both foreground) star as Col. Tigh and Athena, respectively, in the ABC Television Network's new sicence-fantasy-adventure series, "Battlestar Galactica", which premieres with a special three-hour telecast on SUNDAY, SEPT. 17 (8.00-11.00 p.m., EDT).

"Battlestar Galactica", which will air regularly on SUNDAYS (8.00-9.00 p.m., EDT), tells of the remnants of 12 colonies of human beings trying to escape the tyranny of a civilization of giant mechanical beings.

I don't want to drag this to off topic but somewhere at sometime Moore thought of adventure as a dirty word. I can get into gritty reality but BATTLESTAR GALACTICA needs to have an adventure feel.

Terry Carter did a lot with the little screen time he had. Tigh was so much more than moving prop.

The last one with Barry Van Dyke is unusual because he appears to have something hanging from the bottom of his flight helm. I can't make out what it is, maybe some sort of strap.

Exactly. Even a mild wind could make such an unusually shaped, and not altogether aerodynamic helmet move about or lift/come off.
I'd have thought that for bike riding, the chin strap would be essential.

Man, these are awesome photos. Some I've never seen before. Thanks a million for making them available. Classic Galactica goes so long with the same stagnate images and info, then all of sudden someone offers up some new stuff. And these such nice quality. :salute:

Love the different angle on the bridge. Something you can only do with the sort of vertical space they used on that set. :D

Nice pic. Jane Seymour is a classy lady and a fine actress there is so much in that one look. The chemistry between her, Richard and Noah was excellent stuff. Its just a pity their subplots were so messed around!!

You're not too far off... The Thikol Snow Cat was indeed the basis for the Lost In Space Chariot used in the 1960's TV series. As you can see, it was also used as the platform for the Landram as well.

Came across this pic of the Big G in an old magazine. I can't recall seeing the same pic anywhere else. One part was in colour and the other mono, so I married the two halves up and made it a mono pic.

some unbeliveably awesome pictures from Galactica, the one of Starbuck with the ambrosa up above made me chuckle- "This stuff is real!?" (or some such..)

And there's something about the image of Galactica just above. Looks so sharp, the ship that is (and of course, the image). :)
