FanFilm: Star Wars:Revelations (http://www.lysator.liu.se/~zap/revelations/)
Very well done movie and impressive effort.
Here is one review:
Revelations is probably the best SW fan film I've yet seen! It's living up to it's hype!
1. The story is good, it plays out well and fits the length of the movie
2. The acting is credible, a few awkward spots but not that bad
3. The cg effects were awsome! The chase scene through the shipyards
alone was worth the price of admission
4. The lightsabre duels were only marginal, the choreography could have
been better. Although the fight sequence between Zhanna and Taryn
was decent.
5. Everything else as far as the quality of the film, (ie music, costumes,
props and sets) was well above par for a fan film, actually as good if
not better than some television shows
If you can handle the download (240 mb) and can get on a server, it's well worth the download, check it out if you can!

I downloaded this the other day and I fully agree with the above review. The Shipyard scene is nothing short of fantastic!! The only thing that annoyed me was the end, but not wanting to give anything anyway I wont say what disappointed me, except to say it ends up lying on the floor of a StarDestroyer. It was too abruped, with almost no explanation.
Otherwise, very nicely done.

I liked the sets and the effects, but I was underwhelmed by the writing. There are other fanfilms that are excellent IMHO, and this was a good try but not as good as others'.

If you haven't already...
I believe you will find the answer to which you seek in the opening sequence.

I only have one complaint... I didn't like the emperor. His voice was to quite and the face...

i agree with most of you guys, here is my review.
1. lightsabre duels from 1-10- 5. very poorly coreographed. there was one fan film whos name eludes me, the one with a pair of lover dark jedis who run from vader, and send a darth maul-esque makeuped bounty hunter/ dark jedi after them, that had outstanding style and, originality to resolution in the duels, and the one where the dark jedi was beat by an x-wing hovering over him firing while the female jedi hurled a grenade, these are examples of breaking mold in duels.
2. the story/script- 1-10- 10- this is a STRONG story, with a great plot to springboard a series dealing with tracking devices, and hunting jedis on both ends of the force.
3. the CGI- 1-10- 8. nice job.
4. the camerawork/ visual style of the directer-8. good fadein/fadeout timings etc.
5. the acting- 4. but who cares?- its star wars. not a robert dinero flick or shakespear. take it for what it is. (though the acting WAS better than phantom menace and att of clones!)
my only other gripe is this new trend to make a bunch of female jedi's and sith to make up for lucus's not having'em--nothing against the concept, but sometimes it seems like shows(like star trek voyager)try to make female lead dominate trendy stories to appeal to an audience that wished it had been there before--but what if lucus had -gasp- made canon that there can never be female jedi? as an example-would everyone be out to make excuses to how theres so many"exceptions"? i saw maybe 4 or 5 total female jedi in the prequals, and people DO forget that leia IS destined to follow luke as a jedi--yoda asks him to pass on to her what he learned.
this film had a female jedi lead, PLUS a dark jedi chick- which is fine-but it felt forced(no pun with"forced"intended).
